Session Etiquette and Preparation
Session preparation is the set of simple steps — hydrating, dressing comfortably, and knowing how to equalize your ears — that make hyperbaric, red light, and hydrogen sessions more comfortable.
Quick answer
- Hydrate and wear comfortable clothing; avoid heavy meals right before hyperbaric sessions.
- Bring a way to equalize your ears and tell staff immediately if you feel discomfort.
- You can always pause or end a session if you feel unwell.
A little preparation makes wellness sessions more comfortable. These are general tips that apply across our therapy categories.
Before you arrive
Hydrate well and wear comfortable clothing. For hyperbaric sessions, arrive a few minutes early so you're relaxed before pressurization, and avoid heavy meals right beforehand.
Bring a way to equalize your ears and let staff know immediately if you feel ear discomfort so pressure changes can be slowed.
What to wear and what to bring
Loose, breathable layers work best — chambers and sauna rooms run at different temperatures, and layers let you adjust. Leave jewelry, watches, and anything with a lithium battery outside a hyperbaric chamber; most operators provide a bin for phones and valuables.
Useful things to bring: a water bottle for before and after, something to read if your session allows it, and a hair tie if you have long hair for red light or sauna sessions. Skip perfumes, heavy lotions, and oils on session days — they can transfer to shared equipment and some are not appropriate inside a chamber.
During a session
For red light sessions, expose clean skin directly and keep the recommended distance. For hydrogen water, drink it shortly after it's generated for the freshest concentration.
If at any point you feel unwell, lightheaded, or anxious, tell a staff member — sessions can always be paused or ended.
Afterwards and scheduling
Plan a few unhurried minutes after a session rather than rushing straight to the next commitment — most people simply drink some water and carry on with their day. Rehydrating afterwards is a good habit for warm modalities like sauna in particular.
If you're booking multiple modalities on the same visit, tell the front desk when you schedule — some sequences are more comfortable than others, and staff can order your visit so transitions feel easy. And if it's your first visit, arriving ten minutes early for a walkthrough makes everything feel routine by the second session.
Common questions
How should I prepare for a session?
Hydrate well, wear comfortable clothing, and for hyperbaric sessions arrive a few minutes early and avoid heavy meals beforehand. Bring a way to equalize your ears.
What if I feel uncomfortable during a session?
Tell a staff member right away. Sessions can always be paused or ended, and hyperbaric equipment should always allow you to depressurize and exit.
